Franklin Ford in Colquitt recently contacted the team at Precision Audio to upgrade a 2019 F-150 FX4 with several new accessories. The dealership wanted us to install new wheels and tires, a leveling kit, window tint and a Line-X bedliner. After discussing the tire size and wheel style they wanted and selecting a tint darkness, we put together a package to give this pickup a little extra panache!
Ford F-150 Wheel and Tire Package
We started the project by lifting the truck on our hoist and removing the wheels and tires. Our mechanics began the installation of a Trail FX F25LL3 leveling kit. The kit raises the front of the truck by 2½ inches to level its overall stance and provide room for larger wheels and tires. We mounted a set of 35×12.5/20 Toyo tires on six-spoke chrome wheels using our Hunter tire machine and Road Force balancer. This state-of-the-art balancer applies hundreds of pounds of pressure to the tire during the balancing process to make sure it’s seated perfectly and will run smoothly when on the road.
Llumar Truck Window Tint
The dealership selected our Llumar ATR window tint for this truck. We always use a computer-controlled plotter to cut our films. The plotter eliminates the need to trim tint on the truck, which can lead to scratches in the glass and potential damage to chrome and rubber window trim.
Llumar ATR film not only blocks 99% of the UV rays from the sun, it dramatically reduces the IR heat energy that is transmitted into the vehicle. The tint makes the truck more comfortable on a hot summer day.
Line-X Spray-In Bedliner
The last step in this Ford truck accessory project was to install a Line-X bedliner in the back of the truck. Our team started by sanding the paint so that the liner would have excellent adhesion once sprayed. After sanding, we removed all the dust and wiped down the bed to remove any traces of oil or wax. Finally, we masked off the edges of the bed then sprayed in our Pro-level bedliner. This coating is 120 mils thick, which is twice the thickness of standard liners.
Ford Truck Accessory Installation Project
With the long list of truck accessories installed, we called Franklin Ford to let them know that the vehicle was ready to be picked up. They loved the way it looked and were excited to show it to their customers. If you are considering upgrades for your pickup truck, drop by Precision Audio in Thomasville or Bainbridge.
