A client from Bainbridge recently dropped by Precision Audio to talk about upgrading her 2015 Dodge Challenger’s stereo system. After listening to what she was looking for from her radio, we showed her our Pioneer AVH-2440NEX receiver with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The client liked the idea of being able to communicate without having to take her eyes off the road.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto use the voice recognition technology built into Apple iPhones and Android phones to allow the user to give commands by speaking to the radio. Features like listening to incoming text messages, dictating responses and making phone calls are the most-popular uses for these smartphone integration technologies. Of course, the user can choose music from the phone or access streaming services like Pandora and iHeart Radio just by asking. These units also provided navigation with the use of Google Maps or Waze via the phone, and destinations can be searched easily by asking Alexa or Google.
While we were installing the unit, she called us back and asked if we could install our PCAM10L. This is an IP-67-rated backup camera that can withstand the abuse of being outside in everyday climates and conditions, and still provide a crisp display.
With the use of a PAC Audio integration wiring harness, we were able to retain the customer’s steering wheel control. This feature gives the ability to seek through songs and control the volume with just the touch of a button. Features like this keep our customers safer when driving by letting them keep both hands on the wheel at all times while still having full control of the radio.
If you would like an audio upgrade to your factory or existing system, or would just like to discuss options, feel free to stop by or give us a call in Bainbridge at 229-246-2111 or Thomasville at 229-233-5001.
