A client from Quitman recently dropped into Precision Audio to discuss upgrading his 2022 Toyota Tundra with new tires, a suspension upgrade, window tint and a tool storage solution. One of our truck accessory experts worked with the client to choose solutions to give his truck the look he wanted and the performance and features that would suit how he used the vehicle.
Toyota Tundra Tire and Suspension Upgrade
The first step in upgrading this Tundra was to upgrade the tires and suspension. The client chose a set of Nitto Recon Grappler A/T tires in a 35/11.50/20 size. We mounted the tires on the factory wheels using our Hunter tire machine and Road Force balancer to ensure a smooth, quiet ride.
The next task was to upgrade the suspension with a Rough Country 88000 1.75-inch leveling kit. This kit includes a set of fabricated steel spacers and all the hardware we needed to install them on top of the front struts. Once installed, the new 35-inch tires can turn freely, and the truck has a great stance. As always, we tighten all the fasteners to factory specifications using a Snap-On torque wrench to ensure that everything will be solid and secure.
Toolbox and Tint Add Convenience and Comfort
The client wanted a way to store items in the truck’s bed so they’d be secure. He chose a 71-inch Camlocker Low Pro aluminum box in a matte black finish. The client didn’t want any holes drilled in the bed rails, so we installed the box using high-strength J-hooks. The box includes tie-down rails on the lid that can be used should the client need to secure any larger items.
The last upgrade was to tint the truck’s windows with Llumar ATR film. The client wanted a film that would look good, last for years and provide good heat rejection. ATR films block about 40% of the heat energy from the sun to keep the interior of the vehicle cool and ease the load on the air conditioning system. We cut the film using our computer-controlled plotter. We never cut film on vehicle glass with a razor knife as that can cause knicks and scratches.

The client loved the new look of his truck, with its new tires, tint and storage box and suspension upgrade. Before he left, we explained how to care for the tint to keep it looking great.
