A client from Blakely recently dropped into Precision Audio to ask about upgrading his 2020 Jeep Wrangler with window tint, floor mats and an upgraded stereo system. After talking with the client about his listening preferences, we put together an audio solution that would sound great. We explained the window tint film options and helped pick out a set of floor mats to keep the Jeep looking new.
Jeep Wrangler Stereo System Upgrade
We installed a set of JL Audio C2-350x 3.5-inch coaxial speakers in the stock locations on the top of the dash. Next, we removed the small speakers and their pods from the lower section of the dash and added a set of JL C2-650x speakers in new enclosures.
We upgraded the overhead speaker bar with another set of C2-350x two-way coaxial speakers and a set of 4-inch C2-400x speakers.
For bass, our technicians installed a pair of 10-inch JL Audio 10W1v3-4 subwoofers in a vented Bbox subwoofer enclosure. The enclosure sits in the cargo area of the Jeep, and thanks to its vented design, it produces more than enough output to deliver amazing bass, even with the soft-top roof in place.
The sound system is powered by a five-channel JL Audio RD900/5 amplifier. The amp produces up to 50 watts of power to each of the eight speakers and an impressive 500 watts of power to the pair of subwoofers. We used the oscilloscope function of our AudioControl DM-RTA to configure the amplifier for maximum output without distorting. A PAC AP4-CH41 interface extracts a clean audio signal from the factory source unit.
Window Tint Adds Comfort and Protection
The client wanted window tint that would look good and help to keep the interior of the vehicle cool. We installed Llumar ATR film on the door windows and added an eyebrow across the windshield to reduce glare.
Vehicle-Specific Floor Mats
The last part of the project was to install a set of Husky Liner mats in the front and back of the Jeep. These mats are constructed to follow the contours of the floor and extend up the sides of the footwells to keep dirt, sand and mud out of the carpet.

With the sound system dialed-in, the floor mats in place and the windows tinted, it was time for the client to return to Precision Audio to pick up his vehicle.
