Let’s look at what makes the PMX-2 an amazing source unit solution for your unique application.
Rockford Fosgate PMX-2 Hardware
The Rockford PMX-2 receiver fits into a 3-inch round hole for easy installation. The front panel is 4.5-inches wide and 4.2 inches tall. The front panel features a 2.7-inch color display that includes automatic dimming for use at night. A large rotary encoder and eight control buttons provide quick and easy control over all the system functions.
The back panel of the radio holds speaker and preamp outputs, a set of auxiliary inputs, a USB port and a connector for an optional remote control. The preamp outputs can provide up to 4 volts of output and the built-in amplifier can provide 25 watts per channel when it is connected to 4-ohm speakers. The remote connection means we can add additional control panels to make using the radio easier on boats.
The PMX-2 is built using materials that can withstand prolonged exposure to the sun without fear of fading, chalking or cracking. The system carries an IPX6 rating, so rain, waves, dust and dirt won’t be a problem.
Source and Tuning Options
The Rockford Fosgate PMX-2 includes an AM/FM receiver compatible with eight regions, including North America, Europe, Asia an Australia. The PMX-2 also includes a weather band receiver so boaters can monitor NOAA weather and marine broadcast information.
The PMX-2 includes a Bluetooth receiver that allows you to stream music from a smartphone to the radio using the A2DP profile. The PMX-2 can control the Bluetooth playback source using the AVRCP profile.
The USB port on the back of the radio can provide up to 1 amp of current to charge an external device. Direct support for the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch or Nano is built into the radio. Android users can stream audio over Bluetooth, but they can still charge their phone.
The PMX-2 includes built-in electronic crossovers to make it easy to control a subwoofer system. A built-in seven-band EQ and Punch EQ circuit give you full control over fine-tuning the performance of the system.
