A repeat client from Blakely, GA, recently stopped by Precision in Bainbridge, looking to get a new audio system installed in his E-Z-Go Cart. He informed us that the primary use of this cart will be for joy-riding at the beach and that this cart will be stored at his beach house, so the system would have to be able to withstand Florida’s alternating weather conditions and salty atmosphere. After inspecting the cart, we put together a simple yet dependable upgrade that would deliver great sound and hold up to the customer’s satisfaction.
We began this installation by masking off the area where we would be making the cutouts for our four Rockford-Fosgate M065B 6.5-inch marine coaxial speakers. This E-Z-Go Cart happened to be a six-seater, so we were able to install one pair of speakers in the front and the other in the rear. These Rockford speakers are all-around great-sounding speakers, designed to take the abuse of Florida’s alternating weather conditions.
Next, we installed a KACM1814 power pack by Kenwood. This 400 watt mini-amplifier is just what we needed to ensure the four 6.5-inch Rockford speakers could be pushed to their full potential.
The source unit MBT-CRXV-2 by JL Audio is a weatherproof Bluetooth controller/remote. Our client can now stream music from his smartphone straight to the Bluetooth controller without the use of any wires. We were able to install the unit by the instrument cluster, making it safe and easily accessible for the driver and passenger to control while riding or driving.
As you can see from the photos above, the installation is neat and tidy, and all the wiring is properly protected and secured.
The customer was thrilled with the performance of the stereo system and loved how loud and clear it was.
