A Bainbridge client dropped by Precision Audio to inquire about upgrading his 2015 Jeep Wrangler with a new wheel and tire package. The client wanted something that would make the Jeep stand out while providing excellent off-road capabilities. We worked with the client to pick a wheel style that he liked, then set him up with a lift kit that would ensure the big tires would turn freely.
Jeep Wrangler Wheel and Tire Upgrade
The client chose a set of Gear Alloy 737BM Challenger wheels in an 18-inch size. These one-piece wheels have a gloss black finish and feature milled aluminum accents around the seven spokes. The AT III tires are designed to deliver impressive off-road traction thanks to their tread block design and evenly distributed void area. The integrated 3-D multi-wave sipes help to improve traction in wet conditions and reduce wear. Finally, the unique rubber compound Toyo implemented delivers excellent handling and impressive tread life.
We mounted the tires on the wheels using our Hunter tire changer machine. The machine ensures that nothing other than the tire comes in contact with the outer rim during the installation process. We used Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors with the new wheels so that the vehicle can monitor each tire and ensure that the vehicle is safe.
Once mounted, we loaded each wheel onto our Hunter Road Force balancer to ensure the tires were correctly seated and balanced to provide a smooth and safe ride on the road.
Off-Road Lift Kit
We installed a Rough Country 2.5-inch lift kit on the Jeep while we had the wheels off. The lift kit provides the proper clearance required to ensure that the 33-inch tires don’t rub on the front fenders or bumper when the steering is turned to one side or the other. Once the kit was installed, and all the fasteners were torqued to spec, we mounted the new wheels on the Jeep. Tightening the lug nuts to factory specifications is an important part of our process to keep everything safe and secure.
