A repeat customer from Coolidge, GA, recently stopped by Precision of Thomasville, looking to improve the look and durability in the bed of his new 2020 Jeep Gladiator. After looking at the vehicle, we discussed the grades of Line-X and the benefits you gain with the Platinum version. The customer was convinced that the Line-X Platinum would be his best option, so we set a day and time for him to come back and have one of our professional installers apply the Line-X to the bed of his Jeep.
The first step in our prepping process is masking off the vehicle, which ensures that all parts are covered to prevent any over-spray from getting on the paint. After masking the vehicle, we sanded the bed to give the Line-X coating something to adhere to. Once we completed this step, we blew out any dust and wiped down the surface with a chemical wipe. Doing this removes any grease, oil or contaminants that could prevent the Line-X from adhering to the bed of the Jeep.
After doing the cleaning, we sprayed the bed using a high-temperature, high-pressure system that dries in seconds. Next, we applied a light texture before the UV coating, which will prevent any fading and retain a long-lasting shine.
When the customer brought this Jeep to us, it was already outfitted with a pretty sweet set-up: The customer was running a 4-inch lift kit made by Super Lift, with Fox 2.0 shocks. Fox 2.0 shocks are high-pressure nitrogen, ensuring the shocks have the smoothest on-road and off-road rating. These 20′ Fuel Warrior wheels wrapped around a 35 x 12.50 Nitto Ridge Grappler really set off the Jeep.
The customer picked up the Jeep Gladiator and was thrilled with his new Line-X job.
