A client from Bainbridge came to Precision Audio with his Hurricane Sun Deck 2400 boat, looking for a marine audio system. We learned that someone had stolen all of his previous equipment and everything from the wiring to the mounting locations was in poor condition.
Our team spent time on getting to know the client better, looking over the boat with him and finding out his goals for the upgrades. Once we gathered all of our information, we worked up a solution that we thought best fit his needs. He liked it, so we scheduled a time for him to drop it off.
Kenwood Media Receiver
We started by installing a Kenwood KMR-D765BT in-dash media receiver. The client can now play all of his portable media files, plus stream his music wirelessly over Bluetooth.
Since we would be mounting the Kenwood unit in the cabin, we installed a KCA-RC55MR wired remote control with an LCD display in the captain’s console , giving him easy control over the unit. We added a second wired remote control in the rear by the dive deck as an additional control area.
Plenty Of Power
Since the client had to replace his audio system, he decided to make it better than before. Our team installed two amplifiers from Rockford Fosgate: a PMX600x4 tasked with powering all the speakers in the boat and a PM300x1 tasked with powering the subwoofer. All combined, this boat has nearly 1,000 watts of power, so when he wants to have a party, all he has to do is crank up the volume knob.
Rockford Fosgate Speakers All Around
When it came time for speakers, we went back to Rockford Fosgate, choosing their RM1652B 6.5-inch coaxials in the front, mid-section and rear of the boat. For lots of clean highs, we added the PM2T-S tweeter kit at every location. Upgrading to these larger, better-sounding speakers means the boat’s system will sound crystal-clear, even while on the way to his favorite destination.
Rockford Subwoofer Pumps Out The Bass
Any good audio system needs bass, so we installed a Rockford Fosgate 10-inch RM110D4B marine subwoofer. When you combine the great-sounding speakers with the subwoofer, you end up with an audio system that lets you feel the music, not just hear it. When you crank it up, you’re immersed in the sound, bringing back memories of a favorite concert or party.
Topnotch Installation
We replaced all of the audio wiring in the boat, properly looming and labeling it, and mounting it securely, for easy servicing in the future. As with all of our marine installs, we use only marine-grade installation materials to ensure years of trouble-free use.
Client Was Thrilled With His New Hurricane Audio System
When the client came to pick up his boat, he was thrilled with the finished product. He couldn’t believe how perfect the installation was, and how good it sounded. The first time we cranked it up, he knew he had come to the right place.
