So you want a more aggressive look, but don’t want to shell out big bucks for a full-blown suspension lift kit…
No problem, all you need instead is a Pro Comp® suspension leveling kit.
What is a suspension leveling kit?
And why should I choose Pro Comp®?
Pro Comp® Suspension Leveling Kits Explained
Good questions. A suspension leveling kit adds parts to your existing suspension to raise the front of your truck 1-3″. Well, that sounds kind of like a lift kit? Not quite. Lift quits replace coil springs and shocks entirely with newer parts to achieve even greater lift heights than can be accomplished with a suspension leveling kit. Most people do not wish to raise their truck this high or go this aggressive with the appearance.
Suspension leveling kits, such as these by Pro Comp®, accomplish a 1-3″ lift of the existing suspension system by adding in one of four common options depending on the vehicle:
Coil Spacers
One option commonly used are coil spacers. Heavy-duty, forged steel metal spacers added to the coil assembly. Ride quality remains like factory. The truck can now accommodate larger tires – usually 33-35″ in height. And a coil spacer like this allows the truck return easily to stock condition.
Steel Strut Extensions
Another option often seen are steel strut extensions. These bolt directly to the strut assembly. And much like coil spacers, ride quality remains factory, ground clearance for new tires is increased allowing 33-35″ in most applications. Fitment can sometimes be slightly better with these compared to coil spacers. And the truck also is readily returned to stock form.
Billet Strut Spacers
The third option of suspension leveling kits is billet strut spacers. These are CNC-machined, aircraft-grade, billet aluminum. Ride quality is excellent. Clearance remains the same or better as the previous options. The increased strength of the billet aluminum is perfect for vehicles that need the extra support. Such as those with winches or aftermarket bumpers installed.
Forged Torsion Keys
And the fourth option is forged torsion keys. The torsion keys shown here by Pro Comp® are stronger than the OEM cast part. Engineered with small modifications to the bolt pockets to allow for easier installation. These allow for similar clearance to coil spacers. And as with the previous three options, are easily removed to return the truck to factory condition and height.
