A client from Colquitt dropped by Precision Audio to ask about upgrading his 2005 Ford F-150 with a new set of wheels and tires, an enhanced audio system and several accessories to improve the functionality of the vehicle. One of our product experts worked with the client to choose solutions that would suit his needs — and go with the Dark Toreador Red paint and black trim. Once the shopping was done, we ordered the components that we didn’t have in stock and scheduled an appointment to begin the upgrade.
Audio System Upgrade
The truck had an upgraded audio system that we had installed many years ago. We upgraded that system with a Kenwood DPX594BT CD receiver in the dash and a set of JL Audio C2-570X 5×7-inch coaxial speakers in the doors. A set of Rockford Fosgate P3SD4-10 shallow-mount 10-inch subwoofers ensures that bass frequencies are reproduced with excellent clarity.
Heat-Rejecting Window Tint
With the work done inside the cab, our window tint team installed Llumar ATR window film on the front windows. Unlike dyed films, the heat-rejecting design of ATR film blocks about 50% of the infrared heat energy from the sun to help keep the vehicle cool. As always, we cut the tint using our computer-controlled plotter, so we never have to touch the glass with a knife.
Truck Accessories
With the windows closed and the tint drying, we rolled the truck into our Line-X bedliner installation bay. Our team cleaned and degreased the bed, then readied the paint to prepare it for the installation of our Line-X Pro protective coating. Unlike most bed coatings that are 60 mils thick, Line-X Pro is 120 mils to provide amazing protection and durability. Once the liner had cured, we installed a CamLocker Low Pro toolbox in a high-gloss black finish. The client opted for a box with rails on top to provide additional storage options.
Wheel and Tire Upgrade Package
The last items on the list were a new set of wheels and tires and a leveling kit. Our technicians installed a TrailFX F20LL2 2-inch lift on the front of the truck to even its stance and provide added clearance for the wheels and tires. We used our Hunter tire mounting machine and Road Force balancer to install a set of Toyo 33×12.50/20 Rugged Terrain tires on a set of Fuel D615 Contra wheels. We added locking lug nuts to keep everything safe.
The client was thrilled with the upgrades and loved the way the truck looks. If you are shopping for accessories for your truck, visit Precision Audio in Bainbridge or Thomasville. You can also e-mail our team using the contact form or call the location nearest to you.
