A client from Camilla recently visited Precision Audio in Bainbridge to discuss options for new 2012 Ford F-150 wheels and tires, and to get a quote on tinting the front windows. We provided a quote for the window film, then started to look at wheel and tire options that would enhance the style of the truck. After sifting through dozens of combinations, the client chose a package that looks amazing.
New Ford F-150 Wheels and Tires
The client chose a set of 20-inch Hostage wheels from Fuel. The Hostage is a one-piece wheel with the look of a two-piece unit, thanks to large bolt heads at the end of each of the eight spokes. The outer lip of this matte-black wheel has 16 hex-head cap screws and a machined face that looks like a bead lock.
The client chose 33×12.50R20LT Toyo Open Country All-Terrain tires for his Ford. These tires have an aggressive tread pattern that gives the truck a rugged look. The computer-optimized spacing of the tread blocks ensures a quiet ride.
Our team added a set of Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors so the client can keep an eye on the tires. We mounted the tires, then balanced them with our Hunter Road Force balancer. This machine puts hundreds of pounds of pressure onto the tire to ensure it’s seated perfectly on the wheel before taking any balancing measurements. This balancing process results in a smooth ride and ensures the truck will be safe at highway speeds. A set of locking lug nuts helps prevent someone from stealing the new F-150 wheels and tires.
Leveling Kit Installation
We installed a TrailFX leveling kit to provide clearance for the 33-inch tires. Without the kit, the tires would rub against the fenders while turning. The F25LL2 leveling kit adds 2.5 inches of lift to the front of the truck to allow the new tires to clear the bodywork.
Llumar Heat-rejecting Window Tint
The rear window and back doors of the F-150 come from the factory with privacy glass installed. The client wanted us to tint the front doors to match and add an eyebrow across the top of the windshield. Our team used our computer-controlled plotter to cut LLumar ATR film for a perfect fit on each window. Using the plotter eliminates the chances of scratches on the glass caused by cutting the tint on the vehicle.
Truck Accessory Specialists
The client loves the way the new wheels and tires look, as well as the window tint.
