A client from Bainbridge recently dropped by Precision Audio to inquire about upgrading the wheels, tires, suspension and bumpers on his 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The client wanted to give the vehicle a more aggressive appearance and more ground clearance. With thousands of wheel options available, a team member helped the client choose a solution that would provide the look he wanted. We also suggested a tire that would balance both on- and off-road capabilities to ensure that the vehicle would be safe in all environments.
Wheel and Tire Upgrade Package
We started the project by mounting 35×12.5×18 Nitto Grappler tires onto a set of Fuel Maverick D528 18-inch wheels. We used our Hunter tire machine and Road Force balancer to ensure that the client’s combination would deliver a smooth ride. We also did a full-size spare tire for the Jeep, so he can rotate the tires and extend their life. We upgraded the Jeep with a Rough Country 10594 rear bumper with an integrated tire carrier. This replacement bumper features all-steel construction, and the tire mount swings out of the way quickly, so the client can still access the cargo area.
We used new Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors so that the client can monitor each wheel while driving. The wheels and tires are installed with a set of locking lug nuts that will help to prevent someone from stealing his new upgrade.
Jeep Suspension Adds Ground Clearance
Before bolting the new wheel package to the Jeep Wrangler, our technicians installed a Rough Country 69430 3.5-inch suspension lift kit. This suspension lift/control arm drop kit includes four new springs, new Premium N3 shocks and brackets to relocate the control arms’ lower mounting points. Of course, all the sway bar links, track bar brackets and hardware are included in the kit. Our technicians made sure to torque each fastener to spec before bringing the vehicle off the lift.
Georgia’s Jeep Upgrade Experts
As you can see from the photos, this 2008 Wrangler not only looks better, it has the ground clearance and tire traction to handle off-road excursions with ease. The client was thrilled with the vehicle’s look and quite excited to take it for a drive.
