A Ford dealership in Bainbridge recently contacted the automotive enhancement experts at Precision Audio for some help in upgrading a Jeep Wrangler that had been on the lot for a while. They wanted to give the little off-roader some personality in hopes of helping attract some attention to it. We suggested new wheels and tires, a moderate lift kit and window tint. They liked the plan and dropped the Wrangler Unlimited off so we could begin the transformation.
Jeep Suspension Lift Kit Installation
We brought the Wrangler into our bay and lifted it up on the hoist. With the stock wheels removed, we set about pulling out the factory suspension components to make way for a 2.5-inch Rough Country 67930 lift kit. The kit includes new springs, new shock absorbers and brake line relocation brackets. Our team had everything installed in no time and all the fasteners torqued to factory specifications.
Moto Metal Wrangler Sahara Wheels
The dealership chose a set of 20-inch Moto Metal M0993 Hydra wheels in a gloss black finish with machined accents. These eight-spoke wheels have a deep lip with machined inserts for a heavy-duty industrial look. We wrapped the wheels in BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires in a massive LT305/55R20 size. These tires offer great on- and off-road traction, and the specially formulated rubber compound delivers excellent tread life. The 33.2-inch diameter provides great ground clearance should the driver want to go four-wheeling. We used our Hunter Road Force balancing machine to ensure that whoever buys the Jeep will have a smooth ride.
Llumar ATR Window Tint
The last step in upgrading this Jeep was to tint the driver and passenger windows to match the rear factory privacy glass. We used our computer-controlled plotter to cut pieces of Llumar ATR tint to fit the windows perfectly. We never cut tint on the client’s vehicle, and as such, we avoid scratches in the glass and potential damage to the rubber seals and trim. ATR film not only looks great, but it blocks 99% of the UV rays from the sun to protect vehicle occupants, and it helps to keep the interior cool by blocking up to 40% of the sun’s IR energy.
