A client from Bainbridge came to Precision Audio with his Bayliner Bowrider boat, looking to upgrade his marine audio system. One of our specialists went out to the boat with him to look over the layout and discuss ideas.
We listened as he explained his goals for the upgrade. He wanted a system that was clear and loud, with good-sounding bass, streaming audio capability and SiriusXM. He also mentioned an additional battery so he would never have to worry about getting back home when he was done with a day on the water.
Our team worked up a solution for him that he liked, and we set an install date.
Kenwood Media Player
We started by installing a Kenwood KMR-M312BT media receiver with a SiriusXM tuner. It gave him all of the features he wanted and more. It was also a good basis for the upgraded amplifiers and speakers we were installing.
Rockford Power And Stinger Battery
When it was time for power, we chose a Rockford Fosgate PM1000X5. This is one of their marine amps, so it’s designed to take a beating and keep on cranking. It supplies more than 800 watts of clean power so the client can enjoy concert- level volume any time he chooses.
Our install team added a Stinger SPP925 dry cell battery to ensure he could play the system for hours with no issues. We also installed a Stinger isolating relay to make sure the engine battery would always be available to start the boat and get him home safely.
Subwoofers By Rockford Fosgate
When it came time for bass, we went back to Rockford Fosgate, choosing a pair of their 12-inch RM112D4 marine subwoofers. We installed them into the foot well baffles of the boat, keeping them out of the way while maximizing the enjoyment factor.
Crystal-Clear Sound By Rockford
Rounding out the audio upgrades were two pairs of RM1652 6.5” marine coaxial speakers from Rockford, with one pair in the front and another in the rear. This is a great-sounding speaker designed to take the abuse of life on the water while supplying crystal-clear sound.
Marine Audio Done Right
In usual Precision Audio style, we designed our installation methods around longevity, meaning solder and heat shrink, stainless hardware and properly loomed and secured wiring. Everything we do in a boat install is designed around long life and easy serviceability.
Client Loved His Bayliner Bowrider Audio System
At the end of the day, you only know if you met the goals established by the client from their first reaction when they come to pick up the boat. This client and his children were smiling from ear to ear when we cranked up the new system in their boat the first time, and that made our day.
